At Rekai Tangwena Children’s Home, our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in need, ensuring their well-being and building a foundation for their future success. That’s why we have a dedicated Board of Trustees overseeing every aspect of our operations.
Our Board of Trustees is responsible for:
1. Sourcing Funds: We actively seek support and donations to sustain our programs and provide quality care for the children in our home.
2. Children’s Welfare: We prioritize the well-being and holistic development of each child in our care, ensuring they are loved, supported, and given every opportunity to thrive.
3. Staff Recruitment: We select and train a compassionate and skilled team to work with the children, providing them with the guidance and care they need.
We operate under the guidance of the Church and recognize the Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare as our national governing body, ensuring we meet the highest standards of operation and accountability.
Feedback on the general life and situation at the institution is an integral part of our commitment to continuous improvement. We have implemented a Child Protection Committee, empowering the children themselves to provide feedback and participate in decision-making processes. This system not only instils discipline but also cultivates a sense of responsibility and ownership among our children.
At Rekai Tangwena Children’s Home, we believe in the power of community and collective action. Together, we can create a brighter future for these children who deserve love, care, and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
